The landing of Mollarri was built in 1906 and until its closure in 1925, responded to the need of the Compania Minera de Alava and Guipuzcoa to move iron ore from the mines of Andazarrate (Asteasu) to Zarautz. An aerial tram carrying iron and had a daily capacity landing load of 1,000 tons. Although the increasing industrial competition (the iron that was extracted was not very good quality), not knowing how to respond to load requirements and the location of the facility, subject to the open sea and weather protection, led to his closure.
